Godfrey is one of only 800 Accredited Business Communicators (ABC) worldwide - a professional designation awarded by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) following a comprehensive qualification and testing program.  Educated at the University of Calgary and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, Godfrey is a former journalist who has won multiple awards for writing, communications program design and marketing.  He is recognized as a communications management expert, particularly when the issues involve education, social or government sector parameters. 

Godfrey’s career as a professional communicator includes many senior management positions in the education, health and social service sectors.  This experience includes communications director positions at a large Edmonton hospital and an Alberta government department; as well as senior communications counsel for two provincial Commissions.  As a private consultant, Godfrey has led or managed dozens of projects for municipal and provincial governments, private companies and non-profit organizations.

Godfrey is a Prior Learning Assessor with Athabasca University and is President of the Friends of the Royal Alberta Museum Society Board.
